Screen/Society -- AMI Showcase: Robert Yeoman '73 Retrospective --"Drugstore Cowboy"

Film Screening:

Drugstore Cowboy
(dir. Gus Van Sant, cinematography by Robert Yeoman, 1989, 100min, USA, in English, Color, DVD)

Matt Dillon gives the performance of his career as the drug-addicted criminal who masterminds a series of robberies in the Pacific Northwest. A harsh and decidedly unsentimental look at life on the fringe that deals honestly with the world of controlled substances. A top notch cast includes Kelly Lynch, James LeGros, Heather Graham, James Remar and William Burroughs as Father Tom, the junkie priest.

"One of those cult classics well worth investigating even if you have never so much as smoked a cigarette in your life." -- Empire Magazine
