F for Fake
(Orson Welles, 1974, 89 min, France/Iran/West Germany, in English, French, and Spanish w/ English subtitles, Color, Blu-Ray)
A combination of illusion and truth, F for Fake focuses on the notorious art forger Elmyr de Hory, and his biographer, Clifford Irving, famous for falsifying Howard Hughes' autobiography. Charming and inventive, F for Fake is an inspired prank and a clever examination of the essential duplicity of cinema.
